MGIS MPL Enhanced Broker Resources!

In the midst of a constantly evolving healthcare climate, we at MGIS are working hard to stay ahead of the trends and to provide you, our broker partner, exactly what you need to succeed with us.

We’ve recently implemented several refinements to our MPL unit. The changes are geared toward providing you streamlined access to our team and best possible response times. Here are highlights:
  • Focused broker service and support. Most MPL brokers want direct access to underwriter decision makers throughout the underwriting process and later with policyholder issues. With that in mind, for MPL, we are moving from our traditional RVP sales structure to a “production underwriter” model. As our broker, you’ll have a specific MPL underwriter to work with you.  The underwriter role will expand to include certain broker relationship functions as well.

In conjunction with this refocused strategy, former MPL sales RVP’s responsibilities have been eliminated. Steve Lempp has a new role in policyholder services – see below. Ben Swenson is no longer with MGIS.
  • Additional Broker Resources. We are taking our broker focus up a few more notches with two additional resources brokers find highly valuable. In her new role as Assistant Vice President, Broker Services, Mary Mabee will oversee all broker service matters. She will provide a centralized point of communication and resolution for broker-related issues, including licensing, commissions, new broker on-boarding, and other compliance and business related items.

Mark Harris is also in a new role at MGIS as Assistant Vice President, Broker Marketing Programs. Through the new broker Velocity marketing program, Mark will provide brokers with proven, sophisticated marketing tools and approaches that will help them develop new leads and prospects in their areas. Mark will also coordinate broker marketing initiatives such as sales contests.
  • Enhanced Policyholder Services. In addition to broker focus, an important MPL business driver is providing outstanding service to our clients in handling their policy service needs, renewal issues and claims reporting. Steve Lempp will be heading up that effort in his new role as Policyholder Services Manager. Steve’s many years of experience in claims, sales and service roles will be a valuable resource as we increase focus on these areas. Clients will now have a primary point of contact for their MPL policy, service and claims reporting needs. We will also soon be introducing an enhanced MPL claims-reporting process that will rely on this new structure.
  • Refocused Sales Model. To complement the production underwriters, we will be rolling out additional sales resources in the near future that will provide further support for brokers and their selling activities. Stay tuned for more details.
I hope you are sensing the energy and excitement that are building in our company as we take advantage of new opportunities for growth and change. MGIS is on the move!

Best regards,

Jeff Brunken
